Phenotypes associated with the disease zinc deficiency, transient neonatal (OMIM:608118):
- Alopecia (HP:0001596): A noncongenital process of hair loss, which may progress to partial or complete baldness. Evidence: PCS. Frequency: 2/2. (PMID:17065149)
- Eczematoid dermatitis (HP:0000964): Eczema is a form of dermatitis that is characterized by scaly, pruritic, erythematous lesions located on flexural surfaces. Evidence: TAS. (OMIM:608118)
- Decreased serum zinc (HP:0031831): A reduced concentration of zinc in the blood. Evidence: PCS. Frequency: 2/2. Onset: Neonatal onset (HP:0003623). (PMID:17065149)
- Autosomal dominant inheritance (HP:0000006): A mode of inheritance that is observed for traits related to a gene encoded on one of the autosomes (i.e., the human chromosomes 1-22) in which a trait manifests in heterozygotes. In the context of medical genetics, an autosomal dominant disorder is caused when a single copy of the mutant allele is present. Males and females are affected equally, and can both transmit the disorder with a risk of 50% for each child of inheriting the mutant allele. Evidence: PCS. (PMID:17065149)
