HGNC Approved Gene Symbol: ZSCAN20
Cytogenetic location: 1p35.1 Genomic coordinates (GRCh38) : 1:33,472,645-33,501,643 (from NCBI)
Using KOX1 (ZNF10; 194538) to screen a Jurkat human T-cell cDNA library, Thiesen (1990) obtained a partial cDNA encoding ZSCAN20, which he called KOX29.
By genomic sequence analysis, Jordanova et al. (2006) mapped the ZSCAN20 gene to chromosome 1p35-p34.
