DIMT1 rRNA METHYLTRANSFERASE AND RIBOSOME MATURATION FACTOR; DIMT1

Alternative titles; symbols

DIMETHYLADENOSINE TRANSFERASE 1-LIKE; DIMT1L
DIM1, S. CEREVISIAE, HOMOLOG OF; DIM1
HUMAN SEQUENCE SIMILAR TO YEAST 5; HUSSY5

HGNC Approved Gene Symbol: DIMT1

Cytogenetic location: 5q12.1   Genomic coordinates (GRCh38) : 5:62,387,254-62,403,905 (from NCBI)

TEXT

Cloning and Expression

By searching EST databases using S. cerevisiae ORFs, Stanchi et al. (2001) identified DIMT1L, which they called HUSSY5. The deduced 157-amino acid protein shares 57% identity with yeast Dim1.

Mapping

By radiation hybrid analysis, Stanchi et al. (2001) mapped the DIMT1L gene to chromosome 8p12. However, Gross (2011) mapped the DIMT1L gene to chromosome 5q12.1 based on an alignment of the DIMT1L sequence (GenBank BC010874) with the genomic sequence (GRCh37).
